Technical parameters:

Drum chipper is special machine widely used in many different industries. It makes high quality wood chips for Paper pulp industry, Fiberboard (MDF HDF) , Particleboard, Chipboard and so on. Drum chipper can work with all kinds of wood materials such as wood logs, bamboo, wood veneer, wood slab, tree stump, brush, stalk, etc. 

Working Principle:

Drum wood chipper consists of knife drum, body frame, electric motor or diesel engine, feed and outfeed conveyor, control cabinet, etc. 

There are 2-10 knives fixed on the knife drum which is drove to rotate on high speed. The wood logs will meet the rotating knives when they are feed into the chipper and then they become perfect wood chips of uniform size. Finally, the qualified wood chips fall onto the conveyor belt after passing the screen. 

*** To produce good wood chips, the knives are fixed on the drum by special and strict angle and distance.

Raw material to process:

Drum wood chipper can work with all kinds of wood and biomass materials such as wood logs, bamboo, wood veneer, plywood, wood slab, tree stump, brush, stalk, wooden pallet, etc.

Drum chipper infeed system:

There are two types of feed conveyor for choice. Rubber belt conveyor for light raw materials such as tree branches and small logs. For heave wood materials, steel chain plate conveyor is a better solution. It is of much strong and have much longer running life.

Knife drum

Knife drum is the major important parts of the drum chipper. It consists of drum, knives, knife clamp knife seat and main shaft. Drum chipper can make wood chips of different size by adopting different quantity of knives on the drum. The quantity of knife is from 2 pcs to 12 pcs. With different quantity of knives, the wood chips length are standard designed from 10mm to 50mm. In a reasonable scope, other size of chips could be customized as user’s requirement. 

Wood chips size:

The wood chips made by drum chipper are normally designed to 30-40mm to meet the board making industry use such as particle board, MDF, HDF, fiber board factory. 

For wood pellet making plant, smaller wood chips are popular. So the chipper could be designed to make small chips 10-15mm.

For some special use, the chips could be also designed to much smaller or bigger.

Control system:

All the running section of the wood chipper is controlled by one combined control panel. It is equipped with infeed, outfeed, feed reverse, oil pump and emergency stop control buttons. All the control panel have motor protection function. For security, there is remote controlling for choice. It is a effective solution to protect the wood chipper operators.
